Introducing Our New MP&L Manager

We’d like to introduce David Phelan,

As we approach 30 years in business, we want to take this opportunity to introduce you to some of our valued team members.David Phelan

David joined PAB on the 1st February 2016 as an MP&L Manager and it’s great to have him on board.

“I see my new role as being very challenging and rewarding, evolving over the coming months with the growth of the business. Joining a strong team, I hope to bring new ideas and experiences, accompanied with a wealth of knowledge of how companies meet their B2B demands.

For nearly 20 years I have been working in supply chain in various roles and industries and for the last 10 years primarily as a Manager of people. My most recent experience was with Walsall Pressings, a tier 1 supplier with a turnover of £45M, an average demand of 3 million parts per month and a Customer base that includes JLR & Ford. My role at Walpres was varied, I primarily worked as a  Logistics Manager for both onsite and offsite warehousing whilst additionally supporting from Customer interface for new demand, through to delivery of finished products. My team consisted of 85 people, from Analysts accepting EDI schedules, to receiving raw materials. I also coordinated fleet Management (4 lorries, 4 cars & 26 forklifts & reach trucks) through to warehouse despatch and all the logistical functions in between. This included Customer interface systems, movement of material to and from production, sending off site to subcon suppliers and finally despatch from an offsite warehouse. All adding to my vast array of knowledge and experience

My previous experiences include work within the Automotive, Aerospace and electrical industries, having a variety of roles including Logistics, PPC (Planning & Production control) and Purchasing scheduling Manager for both Pailton in Automotive and Wymann Gordon in Aerospace. I also had a 10 year stint as PPC Manager at Eaton in Electrical. Along the way I have had roles as a Warehouse Manager, Senior buyer, Master production scheduler, Planner/Analyst and a grounding in my first job as a Labourer at GKN, where over a 10 year period I worked my way up to Leading-hand. After the business  closed in 1996 it gave me the push to move into supply chain and my first planning role with Meritor in the automotive industry.

I am excited to join the PAB team and look forward to the new challenges ahead”.
