The role
- Deliver and develop the purchasing strategy to deliver total cost reduction, lead-time reduction, inventory optimisation and favourable payment terms that deliver a competitive edge.
- To continuously develop supply base to ensure excellent supplier performance.
- Design and implement best practice purchasing processes and procedures.
- Manage the purchase requisition process ensuring timely sign off, adherence to process in accordance with company policy and procedures.
- Track purchase activities and create and maintain meaningful business KPI’s that report performance of the purchasing department.
- Full control and responsibility of total spend/budget.
Experience
-Project Management
-Significant experience in a similar position
-Experience within a modern, lean manufacturing environment
-Experience with a budget management
-Understanding of other functions within a manufacturing environment.
-Proven record of cost reduction.
-Excellent communication skills
-Experienced and proven track record in global sourcing.
-Ability to control and improve cost materials and eliminate waste
-Strong negotiation skills
-Able to develop supplier partnerships and forward plan opportunities.
-Ability to contribute to a continuous improvement environment.
-Experience in dealing with raw material and product knowledge
